“I know this sounds cheesy, but Amazin’ Blue means everything to me. When I joined this team of people, I suddenly had a community.

I was really lost when I came to Michigan for the first time. Like, it’s just so big and scary, and I didn’t know how to get involved in extracurriculars. I was also really quiet, very reserved, and I wasn’t outgoing. I had to learn to put myself out there, be brave and be myself around new people.

Joining the team has taught me a lot about myself and I’ve grown a lot. A capella is completely different from any choir or musical theater than I’ve done before – you really have to count on yourself and your teammates to know their parts, blend together, and listen closely to each other.

Thanks to Amazin’ Blue, I’ve found a family here at Michigan that I never had before. I was found in a place that I had previously been lost.”
